Angel M. Salita, Jr., a senior partner in SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, is a lawyer and a mechanical engineer. His practice area is corporate law, specializing in special projects (including power, renewable energy, geothermal, hydro and other energy, oil and gas, telecommunications, water, construction, BOT or PPP, and other infrastructure laws), project finance, acquisition, investment, and banking.

  • JERA’s acquisition of 27% interest in Aboitiz Power Corporation;
  • Keppel Midgard’s submarine cable Project Bifrost;
  • Chevron’s acquisition and eventual divestment in Malampaya Natural Gas Project;
  • MELCO’s Air Radar Surveillance System Project (Japan’s first defense equipment export deal);
  • Foreign contractor’s bidding for NGCP’s Cebu-Negros-Panay (CNP) Phase 3 Project;
  • Prysmian’s CNP Project for NGCP;
  • On-going business development for a LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in the Philippines;
  • JBIC’s project financing for San Roque Hydro-Electric Power Plant;
  • Hutama-RSEA’s $370M construction contract with CMMTC for the Manila Skyway (Phase I);
  • Vestas’s EPC contract for Northwind’s Bangui Bay wind power project; Filinvest’s PBCom Tower Project;
  • Investment in fuel retail trade of the top oil company of a major South East Asian country;
  • Lenders’ project financing of San Miguel’s Limay coal-fired power plant;
  • Lenders’ project financing of San Miguel’s Malita coal-fired power plant;
  • Meralco PowerGen’s acquisition of equity interest in Global Business Power Corporation;
  • Meralco PowerGen’s acquisition of substantial interest in RP Energy coal-fired power project; and
  • AES’ acquisition of NPC’s Masinloc coal-fired power plant and its financing.
