Ronald Mark C. Lleno specializes in litigation and employment law. His practice areas are litigation (civil, criminal, and administrative), employment law, and taxation law.
Mr. Lleno is a trial lawyer. He handles cases before all levels of the Philippine judiciary, including the Regional Trial Courts, the Court of Tax Appeals, the Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court. He also appears before administrative and quasi-judicial agencies, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Central Board of Assessment Appeals, and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. Among other recent representations, Mr. Lleno advised a multinational company in relation to a food poisoning incident involving more than 100 students in a school activity sponsored by the company. He also represented a European ambassador who was criminally indicted for a non-bailable crime in the Philippines.
In his employment law practice, Mr. Lleno represents employers in a wide variety of industries across the country. He focuses on employment litigation defense, illegal dismissal actions, unfair labor practice actions, and other employment related lawsuits. He also provides advice on a wide range of employment and labor laws, and compliance with these laws. He also advises clients on internal investigations into executive misconduct. Among other recent representations, he advised a multinational pharmaceutical company during the certification election to determine the sole and exclusive bargaining representative of the company's employees for purposes of collective bargaining, while at the same time advising them on the illegal dismissal and unfair labor practice claim of the union president who initiated the certification election.
Mr. Lleno also handles general corporate work. He is the corporate secretary for several corporations and he advises clients on general regulatory requirements.
