COVID-19 updates (SyCipLaw Bulletin # 11): Enhanced Community Quarantine Extended until April 30; Bayanihan Act IRRs

April 30, 2020

The following updates, among others, were covered by SyCipLaw’s bulletin to its clients:

The Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) over Luzon has been extended until 11:59 PM of April 30, 2020. This is pursuant to the Memorandum issued on April 7, 2020 by the Executive Secretary. The ECQ period was initially from March 17 to 12 midnight of April 13.

The “extension of the ECQ [is] without prejudice to the lifting or modification of existing guidelines, as may be approved by the [Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases] (IATF) without need of further approval from [the Office of the President].”

Several government offices have released issuances in response to the extension of the ECQ.

The full text of the bulletin can be found at (https://mailchi.mp/e55264b2eb6c/ecq-extended-until-april-30-bayanihan-act-irrs)

The bulletin was prepared by SyCipLaw partners Carina C. Laforteza and Vida M. Panganiban-Alindogan, with the assistance of legal assistant Severino Miguel B. Sanchez
